The farmers who comprise the cooperative have a combined 150 years of experience raising Australian lamb that is regarded as among the best available anywhere in the world.

Their passion for raising premium quality lamb begins with the breeding, where only first or second cross-bred lambs are used to ensure consistency in Mt. Grambie’s texture, tenderness and taste.
No less important to Five Star Lamb farmers is the quality of the pastures on which their lambs graze. A commitment to
raising lamb on a diet of rich, lush pasture grasses, so important to good health, is what motivated the farmers to develop
an
all-natural, molasses-based fertilizer for their pastures that is made right on the farm.
This unique, “home-made” fertilizer not only provides enhanced nutrition for the lamb, it also enables the farmers to
eliminate the use of products manufactured at and transported from distant locations, which reduces their carbon footprint
and contributes to a cleaner environment.
Five Star Lamb farmers also know that producing lamb of exceptional quality means avoiding the use of unwanted or
unnatural substances and residues that are associated with antibiotics, artificial growth hormones, and other additives.

It’s also why these farmers participate in the National Livestock Identification System [NLIS]. Each farmer understands

well as their own livestock management system.
